|Do you believe in making dreams come true?|
|Everyone who knows me knows that I'm a runner. But I am also a person who loves a challenge, especially a physical one. When you run a race for charity, it's not always clear where the money goes, so I decided to go big or go home. I am combining my love of physical fitness with an amazing cause where I know the money I raise will make dreams comes true.|
I am participating in the Make-A-Wish Trailblaze Challenge to raise funds and grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their lives with hope, strength and joy. With your help, I know that I can surpass my personal goal.
This is a true challenge - in the spring, I will hike 26.5 miles of the Sauratown Trail in an effort to grant more wishes. I have never done anything like this. But I am up for the challenge. Training starts now!
Over the organization's 30-year history, they have found that granting a wish is often the best medicine possible for a sick child. It is a prescription that changes a child’s outlook on life and generates a smile for the first time in a long time.
In 2017, Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina granted 200 wishes at an average cost of $7500 per wish.
My niece is a Make-A-Wish child, so I know firsthand what an amazing opportunity these wishes are for sick children. Alexa was diagnosed with cancer at age 4, and spent many months going through grueling treatment and multiple surgeries. At the end of the traumatic journey, Make-A-Wish set her and her family to Disney World. It was much more then just a magical vacation for them, it was a break from living with cancer 24 hours a day. Today, Alexa is a bright, talented, beautiful and kind 17-year-old who will never forget with Make-A-Wish did for her and her family.
Please help me help them make these wishes a reality for kids like Alexa-donate today! You will be making a difference in a child's life!
